Quitting a Job
After I graduated from college, I found my first job in the Smile gas station. My uncle is one of a manager in this company and he introduced me to work there. I do the accountant’s work and everything about money is my job. I have worked about a half year and I decided to quit. The most important reason is I don't like to work overtime. If I do my job too slowly or waste the time by myself, certainly I will spend more time until I finish my works. However, mostly the reasons I need to work overtime because of other things. Our gas station has lots of problems; the equipments, the staffs, even the station leader.
The first problem is about the computer. I need to use it to settle up the income. I can't do my job because the computer crashed. In addition, the maintenance staff won’t come to repair it immediately. Sometimes I need to wait for one or two days and they just come. I remember one time I go to work on Saturday because I haven’t settle up the income for two days. I was really mad about it due to the computer problem. That company isn't poor but using the old computer will lower the working efficiency.
Secondly, the staffs changing are too fast and the staff leader didn’t work well either. Normally a gas station will have three to four staff leaders who are in charge of three shifts of work time; the day, the night and the midnight. In our station, one of the staff leaders always drinks but at least he didn't make many mistakes about the job. One of the others was posting away by other station. I don't know how long he has been the staff leader. He usually keys in the wrong reporting data and I need to ask him to correct it. Because of this, I waste more time to help them.
Finally, it is also the main problem. Our station leader isn’t good enough to control all the business. In Smile gas station, we have three different kinds of station; level A is the best, and then is B and next one is C. The levels are distinguished according to the station's income and guest numbers. The station leaders also have three levels and divided by their working experiences. Our station leader is level C but the station level is A. The meaning is he didn’t have enough experience to work there. He can work there as the station is near his house and he has relation with the general manager. Nevertheless, if he has good working ability, nobody will think he can be the station leader because of his relation. Honestly, he knew nothing about the work. The ex-accountant told me that I need to learn everything because nobody can help me. In the beginning, I didn't realize very well. After a few days, I got the point. Sometimes I had some problems about my works. I only can ask the station leader but he always can't give me any help. Besides, he is easy to get angry with the staffs. I don't like to see him yell out to them and most of them are young. I will comfort them because they didn't make a huge mistake. However, some of them will get angry and quit the job. I think the leader's failure was the main point for the staffs' leaving.
I don't have good experience for this job. I think it will help me to concern seriously for my future job. Because of this reason, I would like to ask some questions about the work quality, salary or working time when I apply for a job. Now I work in a cram school and I enjoy my work. My managers always discuss work problems with me and I think I learn a lot from it.

Although I quitted the job, I still learn something in the period. I got lots of experiences by my first job. I understand that is not easy to earn money because I’m not working by myself. For this reason, I need to learn how to get along with my colleagues and bosses. It will let me adapted easily to new working circumstances.
